Brooke Kelley, paralegal, joined Kain & Burke, PC in 2019. Brooke grew up in Palisade and graduated cum laude with a BA from Mesa State College (now Colorado Mesa University) in 1999. Brooke lived in Denver for 16 years, where she obtained her paralegal certificate in 2003 and worked as a legal assistant and paralegal.
Brooke lives in Fruita with her husband and stepson, and enjoys yoga, reading, traveling, and hiking. She aspires to learn more about Star Wars, which is a pretty big deal in her house.

Vicki S. Blaylock is a Certified Paralegal through the National Association of Legal Assistants. She has been with Kain & Burke, PC since 1990. Originally from Illinois, she moved to Colorado in 1979. Vicki is married with two grown children and three grandchildren. She focuses on estate planning and probate, as well as business law, real estate, and litigation support.
Her knowledge and expertise are based upon many years of experience and successful completion of a three year course of study to become a Certified Paralegal. She is constantly upgrading her knowledge through daily work at the law firm and through attendance of continuing education courses.

Paula Illian Moore has been part of Grand Junction’s legal community since 1992 when she became a legal assistant for a civil trial attorney. She later served in our judicial district as division clerk to the now retired Judge Nicholas Massaro. While providing foster care in the late 90’s, she completed special projects from home at the behest of the Judicial Administrator and Judges. She and her family adopted a special child – daughter Nece – at the turn of the century and, thereafter, Paula returned to work as a legal assistant. She is most experienced in water law, probate, estate planning, and civil litigation. When not enmeshed in the details of her daily work, she craves Jeep and motorcycle rides through the mountains and plains of Colorado and Utah. Although born and raised in Chicago, Paula loves nature and can’t imagine life without children, animals, books, music, and Glade Park. Besides Nece, she’s also blessed by her husband Tim since 1991, son Michael and his wife Sarah, daughter Ashley and her husband Patrick, stepsons Matthew and Derrick, and seven wonderful grandchildren.

Christy Moore has been a paralegal since 1979. She spent 16-1/2 years at the District Attorney’s Office, and has been with Kain & Burke, PC since 1998. Her experience encompasses case preparation for trial litigation, witness interviews, client preparation, trial experience in the courtroom, and attorney support throughout the litigation process.
Christy, a native of Colorado, is married with three grown children, and is the grandmother of four. She works in the areas of criminal law, litigation, and family law. Christy has developed many contacts throughout Western Colorado, including court clerks and District Attorney’s Office personnel, as well as friends in law enforcement. She also is the office manager for Kain & Burke, PC.

Andrea Faudree, legal secretary, joined Kain & Burke, PC in 2009. She grew up on a sheep ranch in Loma, Colorado with her family, parents Speero and Mary Papas, sister Maria and brother Darius. Andrea and her husband Mark are proud to call the Grand Valley their home.
Andrea’s career background includes general office/public relations, bookkeeping, and teaching. She coordinated the Higher Education Admissions Requirement program for Mesa State College (now Colorado Mesa University), as well as the Cost of Care program for the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office. She holds a BA in Communication/Journalism from the University of Northern Colorado and completed an Elementary Education licensing program at Mesa State College (CMU).

Annette James, paralegal, has been with the firm on and off since 2002. She spent four years as a Language Arts teacher at Central High School and returned to Kain & Burke, PC.
Annette is a native of Grand Junction. She graduated from Central High School, later receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a concentration in Secondary Education from Mesa State College (now Colorado Mesa University) in 2004. Annette is married with two children. She works in the areas of criminal law and family law.

Joyce Bailey came to work at Kain & Burke, PC in November of 2013 following her retirement as Judge David Bottger’s division clerk for 30 years. She is an asset to our team, helping the paralegals and staff, and also is our file clerk and runner. Joyce grew up in Indiana, and moved to Colorado in 1973 upon her marriage to Jason, who was in the Army and stationed in Colorado Springs. A move in 1980 brought them to the Grand Valley. Joyce has two grown sons and two grandchildren.

Rachel Gilleece joined the Kain & Burke, PC team in June of 2017. She started out as a runner, and now is at the front desk assisting with office operations. She grew up on the Western Slope, and moved to the valley to attended Colorado Mesa University. She worked retail for many years prior to working for this office.
