Melinda Flores, started with Kain and Burke, PC in 2021. She is a legal secretary for the firm. Melinda brings 15 plus years of Administrative and HR background with her and her enthusiasm to help and meet our client’s needs. Melinda is one of the first people you will be greeted by when arriving at our office and you will be sure to be greeted with a smile. Melinda’s favorite part of the job is the staff, work environment and the clients. It is very rewarding being part of such an amazing firm. When Melinda is not working, she is enjoying her two daughters who both attend CMU here in the Grand Valley. They keep her busy with Cheer and their involvement on the worship team at their local church. When she’s not with her daughters she loves spending time riding her bike and going for walks with her fiancé here in beautiful Colorado. She also loves to cook and because of her big meals that she is always preparing it also brings her family to her table for most holidays and events. Melinda is very family oriented and loves that they are around to enjoy time spent together.

Laurey Marsh, paralegal, joined Kain & Burke in 2021 and is looking forward to this new chapter. Laurey was born and raised in Grand Junction and obtained her associates degree in 1991 at Ricks College, Idaho. Laurey has worked as a legal assistant and paralegal for over 27 years. Her experience includes a vast knowledge of domestic law, and has experience in probate, estate planning, litigation, real estate and business. Laurey’s positivity and experience help put clients at ease during the legal process. She loves spending time with her husband, Spencer. She is blessed with one stepson, Ethan, who is currently serving in the Air Force. Laurey loves animals, and enjoys traveling with her husband and spending time in the outdoors hiking, road biking as well as riding her HD motorcycle as much as possible.

Alison has held many roles at Kain & Burke. She has served as a legal secretary, file clerk, runner, and now paralegal. Alison graduated in 2019 from Colorado State University with a Bachelor’s in Human Development and Family Studies. Alison’s greatest desire is to help others and she feels that she gets to fill that role at the firm. She strives for excellence in her work and is always seeking new knowledge.
When Ali is not at work you can find her skiing, taking in theater, spending time with her dog Bailee, and being involved in the community. Alison loves to volunteer and has given her time to causes such as giving tree, breast cancer fundraisers, and special needs music classes.
Ali aims to create the best experience possible for Kain & Burke clients and is always willing to help however she can.

Lupita Ramirez, legal secretary, joined Kain & Burke, PC in 2020. Lupita takes pride in serving others and has an extensive background in customer service. She strives to meet the needs of our clients promptly and courteously. Lupita is one of the first people you will meet or speak with when calling or visiting our office. She will greet you with a sparkle in her eye and a smile that will put your heart at ease. Lupita is bilingual and is motivated help our law firm extend our services to the Latino community. When Lupita is not working, she is out enjoying what the Grand Valley has to offer by way of playing soccer and volleyball with some local leagues, or you can find her hiking, fishing, and enjoying the river with her rescued dog.

Vicky Haddox started with Kain & Burke, PC in March of 2021. She is a legal runner and secretary for the firm. Vicky brings to Kain & Burke, PC over 28 years of experience in the combined areas of legal assistance, bookkeeping, customer service, and banking, having worked in the banking industry for 18 years. Her favorite part of the job is customer service where she finds helping others to be very rewarding. She enjoys skiing, crafts, music, and dancing. Vicky is not a Colorado native but notes that “Colorado is the best place to live!” Vicky and her family live with three wonderful cats.

Brooke Kelley, paralegal, joined Kain & Burke, PC in 2019. Brooke grew up in Palisade and graduated cum laude with a BA from Mesa State College (now Colorado Mesa University) in 1999. Brooke lived in Denver for 16 years, where she obtained her paralegal certificate in 2003 and worked as a legal assistant and paralegal.
Brooke lives in Fruita with her husband and stepson, and enjoys yoga, reading, traveling, and hiking. She aspires to learn more about Star Wars, which is a pretty big deal in her house.

Vicki S. Blaylock is a Certified Paralegal through the National Association of Legal Assistants. She has been with Kain & Burke, PC since 1990. Originally from Illinois, she moved to Colorado in 1979. Vicki is married with two grown children and three grandchildren. She focuses on estate planning and probate, as well as business law, real estate, and litigation support.
Her knowledge and expertise are based upon many years of experience and successful completion of a three year course of study to become a Certified Paralegal. She is constantly upgrading her knowledge through daily work at the law firm and through attendance of continuing education courses.

Paula Illian Moore, paralegal, has been part of Grand Junction’s legal community since 1992 when she became a legal assistant for a civil trial attorney. She later served in our judicial district as division clerk to the now retired Judge Nicholas Massaro. While providing foster care in the late 90’s, she completed special projects from home at the behest of the Judicial Administrator and Judges. She and her family adopted a special child – daughter Nece – at the turn of the century and, thereafter, Paula returned to work as a legal assistant. She is most experienced in water law, probate, estate planning, and civil litigation. When not enmeshed in the details of her daily work, she craves Jeep and motorcycle rides through the mountains and plains of Colorado and Utah. Although born and raised in Chicago, Paula loves nature and can’t imagine life without children, animals, books, music, and Glade Park. Besides Nece, she’s also blessed by her husband Tim since 1991, son Michael and his wife Sarah, daughter Ashley and her husband Patrick, stepsons Matthew and Derrick, and seven wonderful grandchildren.

Christy Moore has been a paralegal since 1979. She spent 16-1/2 years at the District Attorney’s Office, and has been with Kain & Burke, PC since 1998. Her experience encompasses case preparation for trial litigation, witness interviews, client preparation, trial experience in the courtroom, and attorney support throughout the litigation process.
Christy, a native of Colorado, is married with three grown children, and is the grandmother of four. She works in the areas of criminal law, litigation, and family law. Christy has developed many contacts throughout Western Colorado, including court clerks and District Attorney’s Office personnel, as well as friends in law enforcement. She also is the office manager for Kain & Burke, PC.
