Laurey Marsh, paralegal, joined Kain & Burke in 2021 and is looking forward to this new chapter. Laurey was born and raised in Grand Junction and obtained her associates degree in 1991 at Ricks College, Idaho. Laurey has worked as a legal assistant and paralegal for over 27 years. Her experience includes a vast knowledge of domestic law, and has experience in probate, estate planning, litigation, real estate and business. Laurey’s positivity and experience help put clients at ease during the legal process. She loves spending time with her husband, Spencer. She is blessed with one stepson, Ethan, who is currently serving in the Air Force. Laurey loves animals, and enjoys traveling with her husband and spending time in the outdoors hiking, road biking as well as riding her HD motorcycle as much as possible.

Alison has held many roles at Kain & Burke. She has served as a legal secretary, file clerk, runner, and now paralegal. Alison graduated in 2019 from Colorado State University with a Bachelor’s in Human Development and Family Studies. Alison’s greatest desire is to help others and she feels that she gets to fill that role at the firm. She strives for excellence in her work and is always seeking new knowledge.

When Ali is not at work you can find her skiing, taking in theater, spending time with her dog Bailee, and being involved in the community. Alison loves to volunteer and has given her time to causes such as giving tree, breast cancer fundraisers, and special needs music classes.

Ali aims to create the best experience possible for Kain & Burke clients and is always willing to help however she can.

Brooke Kelley, paralegal, joined Burke, Holguin, & Smith, P.C. in 2019. Brooke grew up in Palisade and graduated cum laude with a BA from Mesa State College in 1999. Brooke lived in Denver for 16 years, where she obtained her paralegal certificate in 2003 and worked as a legal assistant and paralegal.

Brooke lives in Grand Junction and enjoys yoga, reading, traveling, and hiking.

Vicki S. Blaylock is a Certified Paralegal through the National Association of Legal Assistants. She has been with Burke, Holguin, & Smith, P.C. since 1990. Originally from Illinois, she moved to Colorado in 1979. Vicki is married with two grown children and three grandchildren. She focuses on estate planning and probate, as well as business law, real estate, and litigation support.

Her knowledge and expertise are based upon many years of experience and successful completion of a three year course of study to become a Certified Paralegal. She is constantly upgrading her knowledge through daily work at the law firm and through attendance of continuing education courses.

Photo of Paula Illian Moore

Paula Illian Moore, paralegal, has been part of Grand Junction’s legal community since 1992 when she became a legal assistant for a civil trial attorney. She later served in our judicial district as division clerk to the now retired Judge Nicholas Massaro. While providing foster care in the late 90’s, she completed special projects from home at the behest of the Judicial Administrator and Judges. She and her family adopted a special child – daughter Nece – at the turn of the century and, thereafter, Paula returned to work as a legal assistant. She is most experienced in water law, probate, estate planning, and civil litigation. When not enmeshed in the details of her daily work, she craves Jeep and motorcycle rides through the mountains and plains of Colorado and Utah. Although born and raised in Chicago, Paula loves nature and can’t imagine life without children, animals, books, music, and Glade Park. Besides Nece, she’s also blessed by her husband Tim since 1991, son Michael and his wife Sarah, daughter Ashley and her husband Patrick, stepsons Matthew and Derrick, and seven wonderful grandchildren.

Jennifer Lewis, Office Manager, she joined Kain and Burke, PC in 2023. She is excited to begin a new adventure and brings with her over 26 years of experience in customer service, bookkeeping, banking and home loan origination industries. Jennifer is ecstatic to be working at an incredible firm that encompasses the very best team of people.

She is a Colorado native raised in the northwestern part of Colorado. Jennifer has two incredible adult daughters, their amazing significant others and is excited to be a grandmother in the fall. When Jenn is not working she loves hiking, exploring our beautiful outdoors, traveling, reading, and cooking. Jennifer loves spending as much time as possible with her family, which includes her two goldendoodles.

Sami joined Kain & Burke in 2022. She brings 10 years of customer service experience. Being new to the legal community, Sami is very eager to learn and is open to new challenges. Sami is first generation Mexican American and speaks fluent Spanish and English. She loves being able to bridge a gap for others and help wherever it is needed. In her free time, Sami enjoys spending time with her loved ones and any outdoor activity such as camping, four wheeling, and ice fishing. She aspires to be a great example of hard work and earned success for her nephew and nieces.

Adalie Pritchard joined Burke, Holguin & Smith in 2023 as a legal secretary and receptionist. She is a Colorado native with dual citizenship in the United States and Panama. Adalie has a passion for communication and earned a BA in journalism in São Paulo, Brazil in 2022. She is fluent in Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese and values working in an environment where growth is encouraged. In her free time, Adalie enjoys reading, traveling, and spending as much time as possible with her loved ones.
